Well I mean I really wasnt too sure about this. One of our customers at work just got a new altima and we did his first oil change and I was shocked to see this.
On another note, the main reason I ask this is because my dad has an 08 Altima Coupe and the dealership he brought it from offers free oil changes for life or something like that, but they are going by the light duty service intervals spec'd by nissan, which at 7500 mines on conventional oil. He doesnt like this one bit, so either he will do it at home in between free dealership changes or Ill do it at work for him.
He brings it to nissan because he wants them to sign off on the maintenance being done on the specified intervals for the warranty purposes, because he has the 100,000 mile extended warranty and doesnt want any issues with it. Should he worry about it or just say screw it because they are genuine nissan parts? This car wont be kept more than a couple years because it is built like utter [censored]. We still have our 98 dodge durango that they bought new in 97 with well over 100k on it. Garage kept and meticulously maintained, but this nissan is just JUNK!!! The interior will fall apart soon enough, I see it all the time at work on the "econo-luxery" cars like this.
Thoughts?
