No matter how good it is , Hyundai simply can't be a BMW, Lexus, or MB badge.

The value for the money is the key here.
Yes, and that is why it's a different market. Hyundai sells on value for money. The others sell on prestige.

If Hyundai wants to play upmarket they should try a stand-alone brand. However first thing they need is Luxury CUV version of the platform to carry the sales just like Acura being saved by its MDX and somewhat the RDX.

That is what Genesis is.

There is no such thing as standalone dealer near me. All shared with Hyundai devaluing the brand and image.

Give them time. They may never separate branding completely. After all, here, the Acura dealer is on the same lot as the Honda dealer, the Lexus with the Toyota, the Infiniti with the Nissan, the Audi with the VW, and even the Smart with the Benz.

I think having separate dealerships is not the better way to go. If Hyundai could incorporate Genesis into existing Hyundai dealerships then the obvious economies come to play.

GM even after all the reductions of brands after 2008 still has multiple dealerships within close distance. The current trend is going towards larger dealerships which have both their pros and cons, but that's the trend.

Hyundai Genesis models have existed and were sold through Hyundai dealerships since 2008 with very little uptake, so Hyundai finally decided to turn all the Genesis models into a separate brand, but if they want it to be a luxury brand, then they need to surround it with luxury service and sales experience, which means current Hyundai dealerships won't do, IMO.

The VW/Audi dealership service departments haven't sunk VW/Audi yet.

Around here, they are separate.

That's interesting. Here, they're the same, or next door, however you want to look at it. But, their service departments haven't sunk the company, despite some of their more brilliant moves over the years.
