Gas vs electric clothes dryer?

Helen... The electric WP's are good that's the one we used to have at our old house and it was doing laundry around the clock, both for the house and our restaurant at the time... They are built well!

The two that I posted above have the same capacity and same outside dimensions. The gas one costs about $50 more up front - not significant in the grand scheme of things.

Actually, a stove is another appliance we are looking for. However, not everyone agrees that a gas stove is better than electric, for example:

There is also the venting issue. The dryer exhaust is relatively benign, save for a lot of moisture, which can be troublesome if handled poorly. The exhaust for the gas flame is more difficult, with safety concerns. May limit placement or even feasability of using at all.

Depends on your house/location. Many new homes do not design with sufficient ventilation for a gas dryer (like mine), so electric is the only choice.

Also electric may not be cheaper in California. One of my co-worker has to yank out a heat pump and replace it with a gas heater, because the heat pump pushes his usage well above the baseline for electricity, and makes even a heat pump very expensive to operate. Since we don't have peak/off peak schedule yet, it is impossible to tell one from the other and makes even night time usage expensive.

Gas dryer if you have a choice, for sure.

Gas all the way, elec is too expensive in my area, IMHO.
