I got 10 qts at a garage sale for 1$.
Anyone know the history and chemistry of this oil. It is a SOPUS product. PAO or just high VII to get the viscosity range?

I bought 2 quarts of that several years ago at Ollie’s for $1/quart. Working great in my John Deere K46 transmission.

Me too! I can see why they got rid of them though. Sometimes on the shelf, you'd have bottles side by side that were clearly from different batches, and the colors wouldn't match. So some of the oil would be lighter colored and some noticeably darker, and it probably spooked some customers that they weren't being presented something consistent, even though it doesn't matter anyway.

That's a great idea, that's why I posted this. Because I wasn't sure what I was going to do with this stuff... I have a L120. Thanks..

Beats the ~$13 per quart I paid for Castrol Syntec 5w50 a few weeks ago... I will say since changing the fluid the mower drives much smoother. No more jumpy starts. Still has that HST whine but that will never be gone.
