@k1xv Could you give me some info on your hydronic setup for the garage? Are you running glycol antifreeze on the separate zone? What size lines, pumps, etc, did you use? I've thought about this option but would have about a 30' run from the boiler room to the garage to bury the lines. I've seen insulated lines for outdoor boilers.
I appreciate all the ideas and will look into these. I'd prefer to avoid electric resistance due to cost. Our electric rates seem to keep going up every year while at least oil/diesel has stayed relatively flat. As far as propane, I don't want to be hauling tanks all the time and am not sure I want to do the contract/tank lease route. Most companies don't fill owner tanks and want a tank lease. At least with oil I can control the supply and have more options.
