Galaxy S5 ghost notifications...

I'm getting "ghost" notifications. I have a Galaxy S5, Android 2.2, T-Mobile. I'll hear a three-note sound, almost sounds like the one-note notification when I get a text. But nothing shows up as needing attention. I downloaded a notification log viewer, and the ghost notifications are not showing up there. I've searched many forums and there are folks having this problem, but with no consistent fix action. I've tried everything I've read about. I've made sure all notifications are disabled in all my apps, and I've even shut them down, and the GPS and other services, still get the "ghost" notifications about every 3 minutes, it varies in frequency.

Anyone have any ideas?

Galaxy S5 with Android 2.2? Sure it's not 4.2? Perhaps it's not a notification. It could be an app or even a voicemail, unread missed calls, etc.

I thought it came with 4.4.2 from the box?

And I'm pretty sure its an issue with something in 4.4.2

Have you tried to shut down all programs and as well clear memory?
I just press and hold home button on my S3.

Make sure you power it down once a week as well. seems to fix a bunch of android problems. I wonder if avg would tell you something?

Sorry, yes, it's 4.2.2.

I reboot every night.

Yes, I've shut it down and cleared all memory.

I have the same phone but 4.4.2. and do not have that problem, I never did. I did see there was a phone update last night and I updated so you may want to check to see if your fully updated.

Yep, just did that the other day.

It was a complete Android version upgrade.

I "love" getting a new phone and/or updates. Stuff that was set to the way I liked it often get changed by folks who think they know better than I do about how I want things.

For example, recent updates to the Facebook app changed my auto-play settings. (I had auto-play of videos turned off.) If the app can remember my account information, how hard is it for the programmers to have the update "remember" that I didn't want videos to auto-play before the update, so I probably wouldn't want videos to auto-play after the update.

Or AT&T/Samsung removing the ability to set my default store for my address book. After my S3 was forced into an update by AT&T, I could no longer specify that Google was my default store for the address book. The phone defaulted to phone and there was no means to change the default store.

I could choose Google for individual contacts. But after years of setting a default and just having my contacts stored in Google, it took a while to re-train myself.

Now, with my S5, the ability to set the default store is back, for now

I don't know what Samsung/AT&T did to break the Clock App. I can't actually get it to display a clock on my phone like I did with my S3. I use my phone as my alarm clock, so it was a bit disturbing that the clock app lost it's desk clock ability.

I just hope against hopeless that Lollipop is not forced on us.

While it's not all bad, Google has made changes for the sake of change that are far worse than the incremental revisions they made in Android 4.x

I just downloaded 5.0 Lollipop.I hope I didn't make a mistake in doing so.

I have lollipop on my Nexus 6. Perfect so far with no problems. Then again that's probably the nexus has zero [censored] on it.
