Hi guys,
I'm trying to decide on a fully synthetic oil for a 1992 3000gt VR4 with 84k miles. I live in Northern Cali where the temps will hit 100+ this summer and use the car mainly for daily driving ( not more than 10-15 mile trips) while occasionally stomping on it for one reason or another. I will likely use 5k mile ocis. I've been doing my research on the internet and have narrowed it down to three oils: Redline 10w40, Amsoil AMO, or Royal Purple HPS 10w40. I've seen multiple posts saying how great redline is, but also warning of high wear in the first couple oci's. Without the latter, I would be sold on Redline. I also like the amsoil, but it has close to zero moly, which I think would help my engine. The HPS is probably good, but I dont want something that does not hold up to the heat my engine produces. If anyone would like to give me some good advice on which of these oils may best suit my needs I would appreciate hearing it. Thanks!
