I figured I would best post this here because of the everyone's experience is remote filters.
I have a Pall spin on hydraulic filter rated at 20 gallons per minute @ 16psid and 99.9% efficient at 2.5µm. The housing also has a pressure switch that closes a contact at 15psi so you can wire it to a light that will let you know when to change the filter or when its in bypass mode (cold start).

This is a nice quality filter that I would like to use as a remote full flow filter if possible, except the bypass valve is 25psi. My stock filter has a 8-16psi bypass valve.
What problems would this cause using a filter with 10 more psi bypass?
Should I just use it as a bypass filter?
What if it were used on the transmission as a full flow filter, is 25psi too high?
My thoughts with the pressure switch are that I could turn on one of my lights in the dash when the filter sees 15psid. Right now I have a low coolant sensor that hasn't worked in a year so my low coolant light stays on(common Taurus problem). I would disconnect that sensor since I have a coolant temp gauged and tie in the oil filter sensor. What do you think?
