Fuel Power and ReFormulated Gasoline

Just ran my first full, city only, tank of gas since I started Fuel Power in the Impala SS. This car has always been VERY sensitive to RFG, and was getting about 25% less fuel economy when running RFG.

My previous peak mileage on RFG in city-only driving was 14.5 and that was on a tank when I was deliberatly trying to get the best economy possible. While not trying and driving normally, my peak was 13.8 with an average of 13.47.

This tank, started after a 1000 mile highway trip running Fuel Power, and using my normal, "drive it like you stole it" style, netted me 14.84 MPG. My question is, has anyone else noticed a substantial increase in fuel economy in an RFG area from running FP?

One other thing thing is that I have noticed no increase in fuel economy from the FP with the Festiva, but I also have no decrease in fuel economy when running RFG in the Festiva.

I get a small bump MPG in the turbo when I use FP.

I've definitely noticed a Fuel economy gain with FP, starting on the first tank. My GA had been getting between 28-30 recently, the best I've gotten was a trip at 34mpg. The first tank was 34, the next was 33 and the last fill up was 32.5

My wife's riv usually got 26mpg, after changing the Fuel filter, it jumped to about 28, and with Fuel Power in was 30. Both vehicles have over 190,000 miles, and I live in that big blue hole at the top of your map.

RVP = Reid Vapor Pressure
CBG = Cleaner Burning Gasoline

Lower vapor pressure reduces unburned hydrocarbon emissions.

That low RVP only kicks in during the summer around here (Maine). I think all it means is if you leave the lid off your gas can, the gas won't evaporate as fast.
