This is quite true.

Best products consumers can use are..

Techron Concentrate
3M Complete fuel system cleaner kit
Gumout Regane
Redline SL-1

All these products have high concentration of the best fuel detergent you can get that will not leave its own residue behind during the cleaning process like most other products do.

There, fixed it for you.

I might add that Amsoil P.i. is pretty solid as well.

As an automotive tech, good fuel cleaning treatments work. The main reason you do the treatment is to clean carbon from the back of the valves to increase efficiency. I have done before and after 5 gas analysis along with cylinder compression waveforms to see the huge difference that was achieved. I do before and after vacuum reading on every service I do with 1"-2" hg increases almost every time. That is a 5% - 10% increase. These equals better power, better fuel mileage, and also this leads to less raw fuel making it into your engine oil over time. Your engine is just like an oven in which carbon build does happen and should be cleaned. Most customers tell me that they see 1-3 mpg. One of my greatest success stories was a 2006 Chevy pick-up with a 5.3 with 60,000 miles that picked up over 5 mpg. I'm not sure which cleaners are the best but I use AcDelco X66 with my machine.
