fuel dilution

Well, BMW has had di coupled with turbocharging since 2007 model year. According to my driving regime, the ecu/olm is telling me I can go nearly 18 k before the next oil change on my turbo di 535.

But yes di does increase fuel dilution. I believe the reason BMW deliberately runs the oil so hot (230-250 F) is to volatilize or drive off some of the fuel dilution.

m6pwr, I doubt that I will ever get up to 18k oci on my BMW. I will hit the anniversary first. However, if I do, it will be fun getting there. Actually, I'll probably do my own 6 month change if I think that I will hit that many miles each year. I haven't heard too many oil consumption stories but have seen plenty of sludge sixes, thanks mainly to cujet.
