All the seals door are shot, it's real special. It sounds like grandma getting run over with a pitbull latched on her inner thigh.

What is the latest GOOD refrigerator that isn't LG?

Needs to last 6-7-8 years and still look good until we dump this flat.

Basic Whirlpool SidexSide. Have two. One in each house. The one in our beach house is going on 9 years. No issues. Water and ice through the freezer door. The one in primary home is 3 years old it replaced a 2 year old LH. Zero issues.

Oh. Got the most recent one from Costco. They extended manufacturer warranty and extra year...3 years all in. Did replace the ice maker under warranty but on these units they're not very expensive nor difficult to replace yourself. But warranty covered it. They changed the design from the old Whirlpool design which was rock solid and used in millions of Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana and KitchenAid refrigerators.

I would try to find one that the ice maker is in the freezer section, not in the fridge side. Avoid samsung.

If you want ice and water on the door. Get a side by side that has the freezer on one side top to bottom, and the fridge on the other side, with the ice machine in the freezer.

I'd avoid Frigidaire (Gallery). Mine makes so many noises that they're indescribable, especially during defrost, which seems to be twice a day, and keeps moving a few minutes forward each day.
Ice maker is noisy too.

The last good one I had was a Samsung, dual circuit. In other words, just one compressor, but the fridge and the freezer would cool individually via some sort of solenoid valve I suppose.

I have a LG, I would not get another LG freezer on bottom
Been thru a compressor and control board after 6 years.

We have three whirlpools top freezer, 1 Kitchenaid French door, 1 Maytag French door in our family. All are working well. Our Maytag is eight years old and shows no sign of giving up.

Also have a Samsung side by side that came with our new house that is four years old and doing well. Previously had a Maytag that lasted 14 years with one warranty repair, but later needed seals and had a bent door so we ditched it rather than repair.

Brother in law has a Whirlpool side by side doing well at 14-15 years old no repairs needed. Any future purchase will probably be from the Whirlpool family.

Sister has a Frigidaire gallery that is doing well after six or seven years. However, its LED number display is not totally correct anymore but does not affect the basic function of the refrigerator.

Stepsister has a Bosch that is really nice but pricey.

I'll give my standard recommendation.
One of the Whirlpool marques, in the configuration you want, as basic as you can stand.
Not because they are necessarily any better, but because the parts network is vastly better, parts are easier to obtain, and just about anybody can work on them.

I recommend Whirlpool. Buy it from an independent dealer who can service it. Avoid big box stuff. You can get a national run around with big box warranties. Ask me how I know.

Wished I had marked my Whirlpool/Maytag/Kenmore Elite stuff …
I don’t remember how old they are - and that’s a good thing … 🧐
They have run for many years …
