Filter from my 97 Lincoln 4.6 4v. 10K, 5K of Total 5w-30 twice. Last 3 qts of Total and one gallon of Delo 5w40 went back with a Fram FS2.

Filter looked good. It was a transition filter. It still had the wire but no. bypass seal or pink media.

Great work. Worked well for transmission filter. What fluid and filter back in and on?

Surprised to see a ruffled leaf spring on an older filter built on the 297th day of 2022. Maybe that started when they got rid of the leaf spring seal gasket on the end cap.
 
I cut the same one open that was made in summer 2024. It wasn’t usable imo. It could be used but wouldn’t do the engine any favors until the filter was well washed by oil. Forgiving the bypass spring leakage. The protrusions on the leaf spring can raise the spring off the seat because they are fitting too tight, even more gap than ruffles.
