Yeah I know they are not wire backed. I’m just not sure what I’m looking at. It’s a strange looking pleat. It doesn’t go all the way to the edge and it looks too thin to be a regular pleat. It kind of looks like the outer layer of the pleat has separated from the crimp and is just “hanging” there.

Sorry, mis-read your post. Yes, that does look strange, but the other photo looking straight down at that pleat next to the medal crimp seam looks pretty normal to me - don't see any lose media in that shot. @53' Stude would have to investigate further to tell what's up in that area.

If you look at both pics, it definitely looks like a defect to me. Since it’s a two layer media, it looks to me like the top layer is too short to be included in the crimp, so it’s just kind of “hanging” there.

Its just a reflection of filter media on the metal seam, that make it look like short media. Not a defect.

To expensive for me I'll stick with the TG which is also 99 plus precent at 20 microns

As for the media in the Titanium, doesn't it seem that the media is lighter in weight or thickness than the previous generation Ultra?
