This oil filter and whatever Wal Mart uses for oil was on a friends 17’ Hyundai Sonata. Don’t know mileage as was no oil change sticker. I’d definitely say it had less than 2 or 3k miles on it.

Put a FRAM ULTRA 9688 on and some QSUD 5w20 in sump. 190,447 miles on odometer. Friends vehicle and lot of stop and go driving with some long drives when he has time.

That oil looks like it has a few hundred miles on it at most in a 2.4 Hyundai engine. Did they get their oil changed again recently and forget or did they recently have service done on the car at another shop and for some reason they changed the oil? The latter seems plausible since it's a Fram Pro filter and I thought the Walmarts only used Fram Core filters branded with the TLE or ACC suffix.

That has to be the cleanest used oil filter I've ever seen. And at 190k that engine is probably the cleanest engine ever at that milage. As for pleat spacing it doesn't really matter. Especially on these cheap cans. But it does on the premium ultras and those are good. They can get wavy but they've yet to fail.

For filters with the standard bypass pressure the pleat spacing doesn't seem to matter as much, but the sloppy pleat spacing lately, I would avoid Extra Guard and Tough Guard filters with 22psi bypass, they have been shown to rip.

I don’t know if work was done other than oil change

190k is a lot for a 17'. As you've seen the media surface area isn't great either. Which is why they are not rated for very long mileage. I seen a post on here that claimed these orange cans were 92% at possibly 20 microns.
