Went to PepBoys to pick up a new air filter for my 04 Altima. They had on the close out shelf, FRAM Air Hogs(a small variety) and just happened to have ONE for my 2.5 S for $7.00 so I grabbed it. I installed it in the parking lot and it's not quite as snug fitting as the factory type filters, but not too bad as I was able to get a tight seal. Any comments on the HOGS will be appriciated.

I know nothing of their quality/performance. However, there was a $20 rebate from Fram on these filters a short time back. Check and see if it is still on and you might have a free/make money deal.

I'm pretty pleased with mine. to me the fit of the gasket in the airbox of my 300 was excellent, pehaps the snuggest fit ever. Cost me less than nothing after rebates too. I am on my second of three new ones. I have yet to re-oil and re-use my old ones. No problems noted and no extra performance. But I thought the fit was excellent

Ran one for over 50K miles on my Subaru, no excessive Si showing up in the UOA...price is right, I say just leave it in there. I never cleaned it, only knocked the dirt loose every 6-7K miles or so. I paid about $35 from Wal-Mart when they carried them, so you got a good deal!

Thank You ZJ, Throck & Solo.
The fit isn't terrable but just not as tight fitting when placing the filter down inside the air box, as the one I just removed. The top of the air cleaner box does go on tightly and a bit harder to snap shut with those hold down clips.

ZJ, I will check for an older rebate form, maybe it's still valid. Thanks.

Solo, Yes, $7.00 is a good price compared to when they were new on the market. Good price for any air filter!

Throck, Thanks for the older thread. Seems like everyone is happy with their Air Hog.

LT4,
Thanks! I do have a K&N Cleaning/Oiling Kit. I have K&N air filter in my 1980 Firebird FORMULA. Bought the filter and kit years ago! I'll use the cleaning kit on the FRAM in the future.
