Found a Tesla Supercharger under construction at a Burger King

Was passing through San Mateo, California and stopped there (not to charge). But I saw a few Tesla Superchargers that looked ready to use, but the majority were covered. Not sure what the business model would be, but I suppose Tesla is hoping build a lot more in anticipation of opening them up to different brands.

What you need at a charging station is a charger (Duh!), a bathroom and something to eat. A windshield washing station would be nice.

A Burger King restaurant is half way there.

Has a TSLA ever been sighted in a Burger King parking lot? I have never seen a TSLA on a Burger King parking lot.

Would a TSLA owner eat at Burger King???? Great idea, but I can't imagine most TSLA owners eating at Burger King.

Maybe placing the chargers at Starbucks, Chipotle, Jamba Juice would drive more retail traffic for TSLA owners waiting for a charge, than a Burger King.

Maybe the plan is genius, put chargers in places TSLA owners would never go otherwise.

Just never see TSLAs on their parking lots.

Of note, I am having a Burger King Whopper right now.

You bring up a good point. Why do electric vehicles get the very best parking at the airport? I would think they would place the airport chargers at the far side of the airport parking garage.

Most of the In-N-Out burger chain locations here in SouCal have Tesla chargers available. I'm not sure if they are Supercharger variants or not but having 4 to 6 parking spaces available with a charger is not unusual.
Perhaps Burger King just wants to be competitive. I suppose all of the fast food chains will be trying to find ways to lure customers in now that the crazy $20 per hour minimum wage for fast food workers is kicking in. The old burger/fries/small Coke combo meal that used to be $4.99 is now about $15 and customers are resisting.

In our small town, the Tesla Superchargers are next door to Timmie’s. It’s a Canadian thing.

Wt, I just ate at a burger king in Asia. 100 times better than burger kings in the US. Night and day difference.

Apparently it’s been there since last May, but doesn’t look like any are operational. The permit says 12, and I think it’s evenly spread on either side of the lot.

Remember, Supercharger benefit works both ways; if BK installs chargers it may draw more customers...
I haven't been to a BK in many years. The last time was horrible, but it isn't fair to judge all of them by that experience.

I can tell you that a nice Starbucks coffee and checking emails gives you a nice top off.

This one looks to be operational - Spartanburg, South Carolina. It's in the back of the lot though. The one I saw in San Mateo, California was right in the front. Must have been weird when it was being worked on.

Please I see more Uber drivers in Teslas than Priuses these days. There's nothing exclusive about driving a Tesla.

Model 3s and Ys are everywhere. At their current prices it's no more than buying a slightly higher trim Camry or Highlander. I have noticed most people who ask me about the car that don't have prior knowledge of them think it's very expensive. A Camry Hybrid can cost more than a standard Model 3.
