Ford Variable Pressure Oil Pump

One more just for funsies.

From a stop I rolled into it pretty quickly, although it isn't a flat foot from a stop takeoff, it is pretty close. You can see the peaks in RPM as it shifts 1,2,3,4,5,6 and how little the engine RPM drops between shifts (When 10 speeds work well, they are fantastic)

From 5527 rpm to 4780 rpm during a shift (747 rpm drop between shifts.) That seems to be almost 18wheeler gear spacing.

Anyrate, the oil pressure goes to around 55psi and stays there for the duration. Boost side air temp rises slightly and boost stays on-boil.

@ctechbob - that’s quite interesting data - namely, the psi is pretty rock solid in so many situations regardless of engine rpm. If I didn’t know otherwise I’d assume it was an electric pump. This suggests either a fully variable setup or some kind of fancy pressure regulator. Probably worth searching for an exploded view of the pump to see what’s in it.
