Ford has a huge quarter loss

If only they sold the sensational cars, utes etc in the U.S that they make in Australia they wouldn't have a problem. But they suffer from NIH syndrome badly and it won't happen. Their loss.

They had "$1.65 billion in one-time charges related to the company's ongoing restructuring" so discounting these special charges, they would have had a small profit.

Which is not quite the same as saying "we would have been profitable if it weren't for all the money we lost."

Would you believe that they are still building the Excursion with gas prices headed for $4/Gallon?

Excursion is dead. Has been for a while.

But there's an extended-length Expedition on the hirozon.

Why?
Because there's a market and people still buy them. and they are hugely profitable. Though the number sold will likely be reduced to people who "need" them rather than folks who "want" them.
