Ford H6BG-6714 Cut Open, Initial Oil Change

Changed oil on my sister's 2024 Escape Hybrid, with the 2.5 engine. 4600 miles on new engine and factory oil. She drives mostly around town, so not many miles for 13 months of driving. Also being hybrid the engine doesn't run as much, even though hers is std hybrid and not plug-in. The original oil filter is Ford H6BG-6714-BA, and is quite short height vs the 3614 equivalent replacement, which was a Carquest R85348 (from Rock Auto clearance). No idea what factory oil fill was, I went back with Mobil 1 0W-20. See pictures and notice the small metallic particles in the pleats, not unexpected for a brand new engine. Overall I would say it did the job. Fairly decent construction, but not much overall filter media area being so short. There's even sufficient space to run a tall er than 3614 size, like a 3600 for even more filter media area.

Place of manufacture? With the white adbv maybe Germany. Ford USA has a long history of interacting with Ford Germany.

I'm going to say the filter is a Euro Mann made filter. Two tell tale signs, one the white adbv and two the fold over tabs on the the inlet holes. Those are two designs unique to Euro Mann oil filters. Filter looks fine.

definitely looks like a Mann filter. i’ve only ever installed one but the photos of them in c&p’s look great
