I just saw a blurb that Ford is going with Apple on Ryan Shaw's YT channel right at the end of the video.

Is this actually true? We have a 2026 Explorer loaner and it has Google Automotive and it's been flawless. Unlike GM's implementation it even supports CarPlay.

I'm fine with that, as long as whatever infotainment it has supports my apps. But the abrupt about-face is kind of surprising, if true.

dang... I upgraded my car from win CE based Sync2/MyFordTouch to RIM/Blackberry based Sync 3... mainly to get android auto/Carplay
guess I'll just stay several generations behind... ( of course my car IS 13 yrs old...)

and just like GM's decision to ditch AA/Carplay, it's all about getting you to spend more money with a "Subscription" through the automaker...

I pine for the old days and easily swappable aftermarket radios..

not really "fresh" news

Already being discussed in this thread, several pages deep into thread:

Honda is walking away from Sirius/XM. I just rented a 2026 CR-V with a manufacture date of 6/26, and it did not have Sirius/XM at all.

Salesman at the local Honda dealership confirmed this.
