Gentlemen: My fusion takes CV-3-B coolant and I can't find out what a suitable substitute might be. It looks about like dexcool but from what I've read they are not the same or even compatible.
All suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks Smoky

I dont believe there is a aftermarket substitute out yet. I would stick to using the proper Motorcraft coolant . It will preserve the warranty and help avoid any cooling systems problems down the road.

It's Ford VC-3-B and I think if you check with Prestone they have an orange long-life coolant that meets the Ford specs.

Sorry for the lack of info in the original post. It is a 2012 Fusion with the 2.5L engine. I got my fingers crossed on the spec number it's VC-3-B .

Again thanks for the help

Smoky

i've got the same Fusion, 2012 with 2.5L.
the VC3B is Dexcool.
For a while ago put a statement out saying they were switching to Dexcool (for whatever insane reason they came up with).
It's been in the police interceptors for a while, since 2001 I believe?? Could've been in the fleet cars as an experiment so they wouldn't have the GM v6 fiasco.
