At least it's only the super duty line, it makes sense that they would spec it for them especially when you hear about, I think it's the track pack mustangs that use 5w-50?

It would look bad if it was an across the change or even back spec… at least for now.

I agree with you those trucks are meant for serious work

If they back spec, you're right.

If they do not back spec, the point may be moot as we don't know why they made the switch.

If ford is going to 5w30 no big deal Chevy is going to 0w20 with the new dexos spec for there trucks. All 4.3 4.8 and 5.3 Ltd motors will be running 0w20 dexos 2 oil up to 3/4 ton trucks. Chevy has been running 5w30 in these same motors for years why the change now. 5w30 didn't stop the lifters from colasping on the 5.3

Thats my point... thicker oils PROTECT BETTER. Plain and simple! The switch to 20W oils was purely for CAFE reason. Most all HD vehicles call for a MIN of 30W as do high end European vehicles for a reason!

All you thin oil bandwagon riders just can't stand to see this!

Could all of this stop, please, like yesterday.
