I greatly appreciate your welcome back. It is good to be back.

Great to see you back. I don't get on here as much as the good ole days, but I do stop by to see what's happening from time to time. BTW, from what I understand, the original Kendall was made at the factory that now makes Brad Penn oil. I believe the Kendall name is now owned by Conoco and is made elsewhere, but I could be wrong.

I believe you are right. Brad Penn is I guess Bradford Pennsylvania and that is the home of the old Kendall. Hope ConocoPhillips does as good a job as the old crew. Anyone remember what color GT-1 was? If you said GREEN you would be right.

And from what I remember, it was green because that was the oil's color when it came out of the ground. I've never seen any Brad Penn, but it's probably more refined these days and has lost the color. There was something about that Pennsylvania oil that racers liked...

If you want your 'old' oil back, it ain't Kendall - get Brad-Penn 'Penngrade 1' oil - still made using some Pennsylvania-crude group-I basestock, and an add-pack right out of the SD/SE days.

Yes, its coloured green with dye now, but it's as close as you can come to Kendall GT-1 from the late-1960' to mid-1970's.

Kendall is Kendall now in name ONLY, a complete imposter - has no connection to Penn anymore.

Je suis triste

From a long time lurker, learner and oil fanatic, it's great to see you back posting. Strange timing...I'll be using the last of my GC stash (all GREEN) this weekend on an OC on my commuter box Cobalt. It's been very happy with GC since I got it in 2007 and hope it doesn't suffer from Green Withdrawal on it's subsequent OCI's...Maybe I'll have to hunt down some of the Brad Penn Greenness.

I still have about 50+ quarts of the green. As a long time promoter of it I realize times change and we need to give newer technology a shot. GC, as far as I am concerned, was THE SUPERSTAR when it appeared and I mean that for the typical superstar reasons: performance and charisma. I am not sure the phenomenon will ever be repeated but who knows. I am sure I will keep one last quart of the green for old times sake. To me BITOG is still the primo place for guys like us but without the green excitement something is lost. I mean if a person is really into, like INTO MOTOR OIL, like appreciation of fine wines performance is not the ONLY factor; there is the history of the vintner, the fragrance, the label, lots of factors. For a motor oil GC had that. I imagine the technical/scientific guys on this board considered it the height of nonsense; in this case they were, as much as I respect their perspective, WRONG!

Nice to see you back pscholte. I remember you from years ago. Never talked much but it was a lot of fun reading what you had to say.

It was because of you I hoarded tons of GC Green back in the day (all used up now).
