For My OCI for the year...

The quick details : Ecotec engine, 6-8k miles a year, severe service.


The choices: Syn blend(durablend, MC), or 1 OCI with Full Synthetic (M1, Quaker State Ultimate Durability)

Delco or P1 filter. Choice?

would you be doing 2 oci with the syn blend?

i'm partial to the p1 filters, but i know nothing about the delcos.

just guessing but I'm assuming you have a lot of short trips with only 6-8k per year (severe service). I would just do 6-month OCI's with the syn blend.

I would go with Mobil 1 Extended Performance (5w20 or 5w30).....and a Purolator PureOne filter. One year OCI or 7 to 8K...which ever comes first.

Yes, it would be 2 OCIs with the blend.


I've had good luck with delcos, but I really like the extra filtering that the P1 does...

You would almost be right one. Lots of short trips, with some freeway. (and "clean outs" too)


I've been considering a blend since my last OCI barely changed the color of the oil!
