Food poisoning

I had the opportunity to eat there once and politely declined. My co-worker was determined to eat there so I brought my lunchbox in, got some pretty good looks from people.

There used to be a hamburger chain place called 'CHECKERS'.
Consistent severe flu like sypmtoms would ensue.
This kind of illness usually take only a day to go through my system.
Since your family was involved, I would contact the management about this.
[But don't accept free food from there as a pay-off!]

I have been to 2 Gloden Corrals down here...One in Homestead and one in Pompano Beach...Both were good but nothing special...I do not go to them anymore due to the carnival atmosphere.

I perfer just to stick to diners...I eat out all the time and so far [knock on wood] never had a issue at a diner.

When I travel from Miami to NYC I generally just stick to Cracker Barrel or Bob Evans for dinner...I sometimes stop at Wendys for a quick lunch....I used to go to Shoney's alot but the ones along the I-95 corridor are not as good as they used to be so cut them loose.

I really wish Miami or Fort Lauderdale had a Bob Evans.

I threw up after eating at barnhill's buffet once, but I think it was from eating too much

That was mistake number 1. Other than that, in places where they dispense pre-packaged food in high volumes with the help of underpaid employees, things like this are possible. No matter how much Sysco sterilizes it, they can't control what goes on on the "kitchen" floor of a particular joint. it could be bacterial or chemical issue or simply rotten food.

Bob Eveans and Cracker Barrel are two of the best places to eat IMO.

Dang!! I never thought of that. You may be right. The more I read the bashing, come to think of it, the sicker I got.

It was me. I added some Maxlife to the dough for the dinner rolls. It made them very soft and pliable!

I've concluded that Golden Corral is the Walmart of food establishments.

We went for the shrimp fest they had a couple weeks ago. Are you kidding me? The shrimp were like 85 91s. A baby crayfish is twice as big as those shrimp.

I got food poisoning from Cheeseburger Paradise. Horrible place, wife got sick the same day.

And another time I got very ill for several days from eating at an italian restaurant. Never again.

Anies overall I think New Jersey has the best places to eat...You have the best diners in the world IMHO...But I see from your reply not all are awesome but I would say much better then South Florida...Down here there are only 2 diners I like...One is the Peter Pan in Oakland Park and the other is the 11TH Street Diner in Miami Beach.

I almost forgot a few years ago a few of us got very ill from The Olive Garden in Boca Raton...But then again The Olive Garden in Miami [on Flagler Street] is very good...Overall I think Boca Raton has the worst places to eat IMHO.

That's how it happens to me though there's no intake backfire. A little water in the intake helps push the deposits through the wastegate. I suspect that is the best that can be expected for those who keep their OBD 10M in top shape.

Too long with the Check Esophagus light on and the system tries to consume the contaminated fuel rather than purge it which leads to serious breakdown that can result in a tow to the shop. Hopefully mechanic insurance pays for it.

I'll bet everyone here is food poisoned more often than they think. It's just you're not violently reacting to it most times. Take a food handler's course some time.

A few months ago at the cafeteria at work, I was in line waiting for someone to work the cash register. While I was waiting, I was observing a food handler making tuna sandwiches through the open door that went into the kitchen.

She was gloved up, had the bread laid out and was using an ice cream scoop to scoop up the tuna out of a tub and put onto the bread. She had just finished up emptying one tub of tuna filling and the fun started.

She took her finger and scooped out what was in the ice cream scoop and licked it off her finger, She did this three times. Then she got another tub of tuna and continued to use the same scoop to make more sandwiches.

I started thinking, what else is going on in there? I just left my food at the register and made a hasty retreat.

That's an acuired immunity! Took years of me eating from various taco trucks and whatever came out of the Mermite cans in the Army to earn that immunity. I'm actually kinda' proud that I almost never suffer from food-borne illnesses.

After eating at the Golden Corral in Pitt. I told my wife that would be the last time and that I would rather eat street food in a foreign, developing country.

If you happen to be around Western Pennsylvania and want THE best $12 buffet(includes soda, coffee/tea, and dessert) head over to Adam's Pine Creek in Washington, PA.

We don't have these here but the "around $10" commercials on national TV looked interesting.

Now I know how they charge "around $10"...

This thread has made me really think about the name "Golden Corral." Which side of the fence are their diners on? I wonder if the guy who chose the name had ever been to a feedlot. There's not much "golden" going on in those corrals, except in a "that's the smell of money, son" kind of way.
