Foam cannons

The foam cannons are rather pricey and I can think of a million other detailing products to spend my money on. However, I was thinking about one of those garden hose type attachments:

My intent is to use the sprayer to do a prerinse & get a basic layer of foam on the car, and then do a proper 2 bucket wash while the foam is still on the car.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a good idea to me. An extra layer of insurance to prevent microscratches. Try it and if you don't like just return it.

A pressure washer alone is a better and more efficient method to rinse. Adding a layer of foam prior to washing has to offer some added protection and despite some comments it does not that much water or soap. For example, Meg's Hyper Wash is $28 for a gallon so you are looking at 20 cents per ounce and 2 ounces should foam a car at least twice plus the ounce in the wash bucket so total soap cost is under 50 cents.
