I recently purchased Fluid Film and was wondering what uses have been effective in regards to ammo reloading or firearms use.
It has been said that some old timers used lanolin products for sizing bullets.

Yes lanolin is a great lube for resizing cases for reloading ammunition, but I would not buy Fluid Film specifically for it. You can buy cosmetic grade lanolin and mix it with isopropyl alcohol for a lot cheaper, which is what I do. Put the mixture into a spray bottle and coat the cases before it goes into the press.. smooth as butter.

Tried and true!

My favorite case lube for the past few years is the Lee wax lube dissolved in alcohol and sprayed on in bulk. It's better than the spray lanolin IMO because it doesn't get gummy or gooey.

Doesn't fluid film aerosol have some amount of solvent to help carry it? For some reason I thought that was the case with the spray (vs gallon).

While I like FF for a variety of things, I am not sure it's a good product to smell up your safe for "firearms use". If you were set on using lanolin (I use some in my version of Ed's red), I think other options might be better.

Can't comment on reloading.

I like Fluid Film on my carry weapons. Not smelly on my clothes and seems to keep the metal protection on longer than others.
I do not use it on shotguns or rifles.

Really? Not smelly at all? I used Fluid Film on my truck when it was new - the smell of the lanolin was overwhelming - like my friend's sheep barn... That stuff reeks!

Really. This must be the unscented variety.

My garage smells like a goat farm for three days after a car gets FluidFilm.

Yes, it is the aerosol type, I'm not sure what the carrier is.

It does have a smell for sure, sheep oil based lanolin I think, I spray some in a ziplock bag...add brass cases...roll it around...then size brass

Can't speak for the reloading aspect but I have found FF to work very well for firearms, I like it on my blued guns when they are in storage.
