flex pipe mesh fraying

Hi, I’ve never had this issue before and recently noticed this with the mesh wire on my flex pipe. No strange noises and van runs fine. Any reason to be concerned, considering no other noticeable symptoms?

could try and bandaid it abit.. but just find a good exhaust shop and it wont be pricey.

That mesh keeps rocks out of the "real" flexpipe inside.

That said, replacements come in both stainless and mild steel. Get the stainless when the time comes.

Technically that could be a collision claim if the replacement cost is astronomical (due to integrated cat if possible). Probably not worth it due to rate increases / at fault loss.

i had a ford taurus that the flex pipe looked like that...i just ran it never had a problem

Looks like there was an impact. left alone it’s probably got a lot of life left in it.
