This year we decided to avoid the crowd and went to Crissy Field to see the Blue Angels.
Instead of showing what amounts to the same stuff as last year, I'll just show some snaps
from that day, leaving the Blue Angles out.

Looking across Crissy Field, the Bay, with Angel Island in the background:

Art exhibition sponsored by multi national mega corps like Sony:

Very nice old passenger ship (converted coastal freigher?) with Alcatraz behind it:

The Bay was crowded with ships and boats. You can see the Maltese Falcon, a three-masted ultra-luxurious yacht (with submersible!), far in the back:

People waiting on the beach for the Blue Angels:

Very nice flyover:

Last year they showed off two Raptors, this years they had one Osprey fly by:

Then the Blue Angels did their routine.

Nice shots, I especially like the Falcon/Sabre formation. It shows how small the Falcon really is.

My wife and I were there in 1999 during Fleet Week. We were standing at the middle of the GG Bridge when USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN72) steamed in. We thought there was NO WAY she was going to fit under the bridge. Some people actually started running off the bridge. I figured with all the billions of dollars involved, nobody would make THAT big of a mistake. Later we learned that the highest point cleared the underside by about 15 feet. We stayed there and witnessed an almost zero speed cat shot of 2 Hornets, very impressive. We got to tour her later that week, and I was allowed to sit in her captain's chair (got a picture of that). One of the sailors leaned over and told me "it's OK if you f*rt in his chair, he's ashore"!

And I was thinking, "That F86 is larger than I thought."

Nice pics. The first picture looks like its taken inside the Crissy Field visitor center. I like that window frame effect, picture perfect view. It was a nice sunny day to get pics during Fleet Week. Did you get any Blue Angels pics?

You identified the location. I do have some Angel pics and video clips, but it's essentially the same stuff I already posted last year and the year before -- only from more south and farther from the action.
