A while back I posted about my ARX treatments (2 of them in succession). I mentioned the small brown specs in the oil that drained out of the filter during the rinse and clean phases.
Well, I just pulled my filter after my first post-ARX oci. Same brown specs were trapped by the filter w/o ARX, and looked to be greater in number (although this is 3000 miles on the oil as opposed to the 2000 for the rinse phase)
Therefore: No way to tell if ARX cleaned anything or not. I still have one rinse phase filter. No difference in the rinse phase filter and the normal OCI filter (other than the rinse phase filter is slightly darker - but a different oil was used Valvoline 10-40 as opposed to GC). Neither filter is clogged.
My test was a bust
I would have had to pull the valve covers prior to the treatments, and then post to see if any visible cleaning occurred inside the motor. The filters certainly didn't tell any stories.
