First new Honda Prelude I’ve seen in person

My Honda dealership had this on the showroom floor when I was in there this week. It’s a sharp looking car. I always loved the Preludes when I was a younger guy.

It does have some good design. Certainly not the bricks we saw growing up but interesting they're still offering them to those buyers. Does this thing have 2 seats? Obviously, looks suitable for two mostly.

I was excited. And then they put an appliance drivetrain into it. I wanted a high revving 4 banger and what we got was a run of the mill Atkinson cycle hybrid.

At least it looks cool.

Especially for it being more or less a tarted up civic with no manual transmission option. I don't think manufacturers think about the price on stuff like this. Then add other than a few car magazines mentioning it there has been no push from Honda nor a push to make it a true performance car.

The apartment complex near my house has some very interesting old cars in their parking lot including an old red Prelude. Something charming about the old Prelude.

Yea, I'm not sure I get Honda thinking these days. Cool car, but I don't know that it is going to sell.

Which will probably make Honda say 'see we tried to be cool and y'all didn't buy them'.

I'll be keeping my TL-S Type for a while longer I guess.

I wish it was an April Fools joke, but April is still ways out.

It's got 0-60 similar to my minivan, no manual Transmission option and is expensive for what you get. Honda is a joke these days, they should stick to churning out CR-Vs.

The car is fine, but the price isn't. Car and Driver estimated the price between $32-38k. Wow, did they get that wrong.
