After my 8:00 class this morning, I decided to go and browse the two local auto parts chains, Advance Auto Parts and O'Reilly Auto Parts. While in O'Reilly's, I noticed Pennzoil Platinum 5w20 SN on closeout for $2.57 a quart. It was a deal that I couldn't pass up. I cleared the shelf and got all 9 quarts that they had left for just under $25.

The problem with that is that I've never seen Pennzoil Ultra at any auto parts store or Walmart within a 30 mile radius of me.

Sounds like the $2.57/qt closeout already happened.

With all the places dropping PP and PU,whats up? Of course you cant ask Pennzoil,as I did and they gave the usual "there are many places that sell it".Seems like a dwindling number of outlets, and its still Americas #1 oil brand? Must be Pennzoil conventional that gets them over the hump.

I think that they are closing out of this PP because of a possible Pennzoil Platinum 5w20 with the dexos 1 license.

How could I do this? It would make for the ultimate score.
