I replaced my Goodyear Fortera tires with 4 Firestone Destination LE2 tires and I've noticed that my mileage went down by 3-4 miles per gallon.Is this common?I like the tires and I hope to get the same wear out of them like the Goodyear tires.Thanks Joe

Differences in mileage with changes in tires are normally in the range of 1-5%. Even moving to or from a low rolling resistance tire shouldn't change mileage more than 5%.

I would look for other causes in the change in mileage.

It's funny that those whom I have recomended the LE/2's to, have commented that their MPG went up
I don't think that the Fortera's were known for being lower rolling but, I think that the LE/2's will improve over time.

Check tire pressures. I assume these tires are the same size and those replacing?
I lost 1-2mpg when moving from worn summer to new all seasons.

That much of a drop in mpg does not sound normal to me. My own mpg went up by about 2 mpg when I bought my LE2's last summer. I would say check the air pressure and alignment.
When did you get your new tires? If at the beginning of winter, I'd take any blame from the tires with a grain of salt. At least where I live, my mileage is down across the board simply due to the fact it has been much colder than a "normal" winter.
That being said, it is normal to lose 1-5% of fuel mileage after putting on new tires. Theoretically, the tires are just a touch larger than what you took off since the tread hasn't worn down, and having all that tread also lowers your mpg a bit.

I'm going to guess you replaced wornout OE tires. And if that is the case, you've taken 2 hits in the Fuel Economy Department.
1) Worn out tires get better fuel economy that unused tires - all other things being equal.
2) OE tires are typically designed to deliver good F/E, and they get that by sacrificing treadwear and/or traction. I can't tell from the specs which that might be, but it is clear the GY Fortera is likely an OE tire (abbreviated size line up), vs the FS that has a HUGE size line up.

I put a set on My 2011 Patriot and they did great. No impact on the MPG vs the OEM tires. The LE2's came OEM on my new Cherokee and that was a big plus IMO.
