The Subaru OEM air and oil filters for my Forester are made by Purolator. I did use oem during the waranty period. I now buy my Purolator filters from Advanced Auto.
i have a 2005 subaru forseter x ,15,400 miles. dealer wants around $15 for oem . are any of the filters that can be found at the auto parts stores as good as oem? should i just go ahead and get one from the dealer?thanks.
can you tell the diffrence between oem and purolator? what is the cost at advance? i just bought a stp for my hyundai at autone ,it was $9. a little steep i though for a stp.looked like a fram also.
My dealer gets ~ 7.00 for the OEM. I buy a PureOne PL14460 for 5.88 at my local parts store. I'd probable just go OEM but the dealer is in the town over the bride and two way tolls ar 2 dollars. I see not a difference in the OEM filter which has "Made for Subaru by Purolator" on the box or filter.
