Fiat 500 Sport recommendation

Hey guys,
We bought a Fiat 500 for my wife a few days ago (great little car) and from what I gather, the mfr is just recommending a 5w30 oil. Seeing various Fiat engine approvals from Pennzoil and others, do I need a Fiat approved oil for this car or just any old 5w30? I was going to go with Quaker State Ultimate Durability btw. I just can't find anything specific upon searching.

I dont know about Fiats approvals, but I would look in to G-Oil 5w30......

Quaker State Ultimate Durability sounds like a great plan....it must meet whatever criteria Chryco/Fiat is setting out.

Neat little cars, love the "retro" inspired interior in them. Unfortnately, at 6'5" and nearly 280lbs., I don't fit in them so well The Abarth looks like a fun little car

from looking @a .pdf of the 500's owners manual it does just say an api certified oil meeting Chrysler standard MS-6395, in a 5w30 viscosity for all temp grades.
that chysler spec is their pretty darn standard one. pretty sure my neon calls for the same spec.(just checked it does)
pretty much any decent conventional will cover that spec.
says "Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 8,000mi(13,000km) or 6 mo, which ever comes first)"
also says synthetics can be used, provided they meet the recommended quality requirements, and recommended maintenance intervals for oil and filter are followed.

I swear a few months back, trying to look up what oil was spec'd(same basic engine in new Dodge dart which i wanna get), it showed 15w40... maybe that was they euro version. the engines in the US model are built in Michigan, re-designed for commonly available US oils, etc.
