Favorite home-cooked cat food recipes

I'll put my money but not my fork where my mouth is. ;)

Boiled chicken with mushed carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower. Like I said, it's almost like baby food but more chunky.

Tasting History with Max Miller, one of my favorite food channels, has just released a video about the history of pet food. I thought some might find it interesting. You can find the video on YT.

I'll go find it. I read an article a long time ago that made me realize that modern dog food isn't too different than the kinds of things we've been feeding our dogs throughout history. Primarily cheap cooked grain and ofal.

Well, people used to eat hardtack and pemmican. Gum that junk without teeth! I wonder if Cuddles would enjoy Victorian Age dog biscuits. 😛

I think the average person subsisted mostly on things like oatmeal and boiled potatoes and couldn't afford to feed a pet that didn't mostly feed themselves.

I wasn't saying that cooked grains and offal is an ideal diet for a pet, but on the other hand we've been conditioned to believe that anything other than kibble or canned pet food is going to poison them somehow. Commercial pet food isn't a thing across much of the world. How many millions of dogs and cats live happily on leftover "people" food in Mexico and other less developed countries?
