I was introduced to it by a pastor friend of mine. Good stuff. Wish it were available in Michigan. I'm going to Arizona for a wedding this weekend though and will definately search some out. I think their light beer is called Skinny Dip.

Fat Tire brings me back to college days. That's what happens when you are a Colorado State alumni. Still weird being able to buy it in liqour stores here in Minnesota. A good entry level microbrew.

Skinny dip is New Belgium's light beer offering.

For another good Fort Collins brew, try a 90's schilling or EZ Street Wheat from ODells. Mmmmmm...

Fat Tire is a good beer to open your horizons to craft beer was better before they reformulated but still good. 1554 and Hoptober I like alot from them and more from the Lips of Faith series.

Now go and seek out Hopslam just released from Bells this past week top 10 on BA drink fresh and will not disapoint a hop lovers dream.

My three buddies and I sampled many different beers during our last big road trip, and Fat Tire was probably our least favorite, just behind Moose Drool. Fat Tire likely tasted better, but Moose Drool got bonus points for the picture of the vomiting moose!

Are you sure? They claim to be employee owned. I've been to their only brewery and it's small.

Are you thinking of Blue Moon? That's a MillerCoors micro impostor.

Good question. I suppose I avoided mentioning it because I don't even know! Unlike my buddies, I'm not much of a beer drinker. The only beer I've found that I enjoy drinking on a regular basis is Guinness, though other beers can taste decent to me on the right day. I'll have to ask my buddies what they liked because nothing else was memorable to me except Mickey's Fine Malt Liquor. I knew about that because it was a UFC sponsor for a long time and I expected it to be terrible, but it was surprisingly easy to drink. I do remember them enjoying a few different Sam Adams beers.

Fat Tire is NOT brewed by Miller. No way, no how. Fat Tire is brewed at New Belgium Brewery, employee owned and brewed in Fort Collins, Colorado.

As was pointed out, Blue Moon is an example that most people have no idea is brewed by MillerCoors (and isn't all that bad either...) Another example that upper midwestern folks know is Leinenkugels - used to be a family brewery that is now part of the MillerCoors empire. Some of their popular brews used to state they were proudly brewed in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Now many of them state Proudly brewed in Wisconsin, meaning some production was shifted to Milwaukee.
