Been given another assignment. '99 Camry that will only blow in your face. Can't get to defrost or feet.
Can't change the direction of where the air blows.
Temp control works fine.
Looking for your shortcut diagnosis and help.

Oops, I'll check. I only know it is a 6 cylinder LE. I'll be back as soon as she gets me pictures.

Here it is.

The mode selector servo that positions a vane inside the HVAC housing is probably not functioning. I believe it is the servomotor located above ant to the right of the throttle pedal. (It is on my 04 LE)

Apparently there is a climate control air mode servo that can fail. You might be able to clean it up with denatured alcohol. If not, you'll need to find a replacement.

It's one of the two the servo motor or the controls in the dash. Seems like the most likely culprit is the servo motor.

Does the fan speeds works? I am looking for the correct diagnostic sequence. Lets diagnose it before loading the parts cannon.
Tha's what I like about you....

Yes, I just talked with her and the fan speeds work.

These are the symptoms you describe..

The HTR fuse is 50A and relay are ok as the fan is functional leaving the air outlet servomotor and mode switch.

Test the servomotor wires at its connector.

If it is all functional test the switch at its connector on the control panel in the dash.

Hope this helps, I am no Toyota specialist but it doesn't seem difficult to diagnose this one.
