Its real and they want it, anyone who gives it to them is IMHO taking a chance with their information.
Unbelievable they can require someone to expose themselves to every sort of fraud there or else.

I wanted to say.. Anyone who gives it to them is a compete and total moron in need of a frontal lobotomy by a Jiffy Lube tech armed with a #2 Phillips head screwdriver and a hammer. But thought that might be a bit too strong, so i'm glad i didn't say it.

I would photo-shop some nonsense photo ID and submit it.

Sounds like a plan. I could use some Photoshop experience, too.

Because Facebook is not the government, nor a law enforcement interest. It is entertainment, and private.

They can [censored] off over my actual, real ID..

Agreed, brother.

Facebook, it was fun while it lasted but you just [censored] up.

Now I can use my focus for other things, during the day...

all I ever hear is bad things about the social media sites. I don't understand why adults get mixed up with these things.to each his own, I guess.
from time to time, I get a message saying that I've been "tagged", or there is a message on my account.that's funny, since I don't have an account.
malfunction.. -- how do you have time to be on facebook, when you spend so much time here?since post counts are not counted each time, you must have easily 800 in about seven weeks ! you could be on a record setting pace.again, to each his own.
have a good day.

When I joined FB several years ago I gave them a fake birthday and some other "off" information.

I bet within ten years people will be able to migrate their FB identity into a real one, eg, register to vote.

They will need this to move on to the next step. You will no longer have to go to your local polling place to vote. You'll be able to vote with your FB log on and account. And if you vote incorrectly or make any mistakes voting you will be notified. You will also be issued a FB credit card for all your purchases. For that they will need all your account info, PIN and SSN. You will also be notified if you start making incorrect purchases or frequenting unapproved establishments. Life will be so much more convenient. In fact your next ballot will appear in your FB account already filled in so that you can spend your time doing more important tasks like making sure your friends and neighbors get signed up with their own FB accounts. Just imagine how better life will be with FB.

FB is soooo high schoolish with so called 'friends' trying to: One Up the other person.

Never been on FB, an ex girlfriend from high school contacted my older sister asking what was I doing, I told my sister to say I'm a homeless crack / meth head.

I don't like drama and idiots

FB is ignorant who gives a [censored] what somebody's doing in there private lives, like I want to read Sally came over and we baked cookies, really? who cares!!!!!

lol :)X2 on the same on the FB.

The most basic of google searches would have easily provided this:

Quote:
Why do I need to upload and send my ID?

We require everyone using Facebook to use their authentic name and birthday. This way, you always know who you're connecting with. When we discover accounts that look fake or like they’re using fake information, we ask the owner to verify that they are who they say they are.

In most cases, the easiest way to verify your identity is to follow the on-screen steps to enter your mobile phone number and request a code.

If you can't verify your identity using your mobile number, you'll need to provide a copy of your photo ID. This could be a scanned copy or a close-up photo you've taken. We'll permanently delete this document after we resolve your issue. Review what types of IDs we accept.

So in otherwords, since our ToolMalfunction friend here is likely using a false FB handle (that can be used for spam to other FB members), they are cracking down. I know Ive had multiple friend requests from seemingly false and fake people, so there are questionable handles out there.

FB is a business like any other, and people can choose to or to no use it, and they can verify their members however they want.

I have an FB account, and ignoring the immature eight year-old acting 'has beens' is rather easy. Its also wonderful for sharing stuff with family and friends, with some reasonable intelligence of what should or should not be shown and when.

The questionable nature of GearheadProne is more the issue here.

They will not receive my ID. At least not a real one..

gearheadtechnologprone -- you already gave out your home address to the world, per your licence plate on the never ending stolen Honda thread. anyone with the right contact can get your exact location in minutes. forget about protecting your i.d. that ship has sailed.
keep up the "interesting" posts, since you give all of us in the group a good laugh.have a good day.
