Curious if anybody has information on “long term” (say, 200k miles) reliability on the 2.7L eco boost and ten speed auto combinations from Ford?
There is the one I think everyone has seen that is well north of 300,000 miles now, but that is a 6 speed auto I believe. Still not hearing of many issues even as the miles are starting to pile on some these going back to the 2015 F150.
Personally, I've got 62,000 miles on my 2016 F150 with the 2.7. The truck runs circles around the '04 with the 5.4 it replaced in nearly every way except for engine sound. I do miss the V8 burble, but driving this truck still puts a smile on my face when I get on it...
I'm glad it's been good but I'd hope there would be no oil usage at 20k. I'd need to now how reliable it is after 10x that number of miles. My little 2.7 in our F150 has been great. 20k in and it has not been babied. Driven like a truck, hauling, towing, and some full throttle acceleration.
It has used no oil, and seems very reliable. I think Ford did a great job with this little engine.
Plenty of new vehicles burn oil at new, so your hope of a 20k no oil burner isn't always across the board possible. Some new Ford 5.0 have oil consumption issues.I'm glad it's been good but I'd hope there would be no oil usage at 20k. I'd need to now how reliable it is after 10x that number of miles.
I hope Ford sticks the 2.7 Ecoboost into the Ranger one of these days.
2 wheel drive pre-runner style with a locking rear end, rubber floors and cloth seats.
Oh and plaster a Raptor front end on there.
I want a Turbo 6.2L Fiesta or Cruze. Lol. Or just get to drive one.We think alike. I'd love to see the 2.7 GM Turbo engine show up in the Canyon and Colorado.
At this point, if I had to replace my 5.0L '12, I would likely buy a 2.7L.
