Eyesore or just deal with it?

The city put a big light up road construction sign on my land a few weeks ago. Telling people to be safe or something.

Was actually blocking entrance to my bottom land, though I don't normally use that one. (Have another road that's off my main driveway)

I made them move it, mostly because no one bothered to ask my permission and simply decided it was fine.

The foreman was a bit of an ass, so told him I'd treat it as abandoned property and crush it with my excavator if it wasn't removed.

Didn't have any issues after that.

Thing is had they simply asked, or the foreman apologized, I would have had no issue with it being there.
I stepped out of my house (VERY rural) to find a surveyor spooka**ing 10' from my front door. He immediately had the "oh ***& I got caught" look and then TOLD me he'd be working on my property for the next couple days. I told him he was mistaken, but had he ASKED I would have said sure.

Yes, they have the right in my state but first have to notify you in writing and wait X days, so I made him jump through the hoops. A man's home is his castle and a little humility goes a long way.

When you see the sign looking out every window in the backside of my house, it’s an eyesore.

I agree it's an eyesore. It's just a sign though, at least to me. It wouldn't keep me from sleeping at night, my fridge from being cold, my lawn from being cut, my car from starting, my dog from eating, or otherwise cause any other hindrance in my life. It's just a sign. It's easy enough for me to look around and beyond it and pretend it isn't there. If it was placed on my personal property, I would care as now my area is being invaded. I'm of the opinion (seemingly unpopular one) that my opinion stops at my property line. Beyond that, so long as it's not a hindrance or health hazard, it's not my problem. That's just how I personally view such things.
