I swear I've seen a thread on this subject before, but can't find it now.

The muscle right below my left eye has been twitching for the past two weeks or so. Seems like magnesium chloride is one of the recommended solutions. Anyone had any luck with it or can recommend something else that works?

Thanks.

I find this happens to me in periods of high stress. If you can address the stress risers, maybe the twitch will dissapear. Same thing with Pain in the Neck. Good luck and good health to you!

High stress or exhaustion are what cause my left eye twitch. Surprisingly, it's never my right eye.

It just goes away after a few weeks. No need for medication, I think.

No, no. Don't go pumping supplements until you have HAMMERED on your diet for months.

Sure, muscle twitches MAY be indicative of Magnesium, Iron, etc. defficiency but there are other factors

Sleep, continuously (sort of) drink water and RELAX man! Relax the shoulders, close your eyes, breathe in (relax the shoulders again) and breathe out slowly.

As a martial artist, I found that a lot of people in our society hold stress and tension in the shoulders and back. Perhaps it is a North American demeanor??? For all of my students...I will shout out RELAX and I always see a bunch of shoulders drop a couple of inches

You may be thinking of my post somewhere. I posted that my eye twitch disappeared soon after taking B12 supplements. I recently ran out of the pills, didn't buy more, and now my twitch has returned.

Hmm... I get plenty of sleep, and I'm not really stressed, or at least not any more than I've always been. I guess I could drink more water. I've never been a huge drinker of anything.

Did you get a new pair of glasses? These may cause twitching until your eyes get used to them.

Had a similar issue (combined with really poor ability to sleep through the night) a few years ago. A cup of tea made from valerian root before bedtime seemed to "cure" both issues for me. I got the valerian tea bags at my local health food store.

Before that, I had tried it all....supplements, cutting out caffeine, cutting out alcohol, cutting out alcohol AND caffeine (ugh), etc.

Good luck!

Get a scantily dressed young lady to walk barefoot on your back. Won't help the twitch but it will take your mind off of it.

well said!
muscle twitches CAN be indicative of a nutrient deficiency, try bolstering your diet with a few more fruits and veggies!

Exercise! Exercise your eyes!

Get somewhere safe, (i.e. not driving, etc.) and roll your eyes up as far as they'll go, and hold them there. Then down, then to the side, etc.

Then take a piece of string and tie it to an object that is maybe a foot or two below eye level. Then hold the other end of the string up to your nose. Then with your eyes, go up and down the string, focusing on the string as you go. This takes some effort.

I'm sure your doctor can give you more/better eye exercises to do. Get those muscles doing something, and with that activity I think they'll relax and stop the twitching.

I have had Superior Oblique Myokymia for years. My right eye will jump/twitch randomly. Looking at some computer monitors would set me off big time, especially the old CRT type that flicker. However, nothing has eliminated the problem. I hope you don't have what I have. I was given Tegretol briefly, but the side effect was it put me to sleep.

A couple of weeks ago, my daughter had an eye twitch. It started quickly one day and stopped just as fast 16 days later. I joked that she was trying to get some attention from the boys. (She is 16) She didn't appreciate that statement.

When im totally PO'd my eye twitches and my hands shake.
