Is this good stuff or is it really cheap picked it up at the drug store oil? With the mobil branded oils being of such high quality is the superflo oil quality in itsef or just a shelf filler?

IMO you will never go wrong with a conventional oil from a well-established petroleum company. Oils like Shell, Chevron, Exxon advertise very little and have amazing economies of scale, that's why they are inexpensive.

I have run this oil for 3000 miles & had oil tested. The test showed oil used up at that milage. I wouldn't go any more than 3000 miles b- 4 changes if you plan on using this oil.

Been using it for a while in g/f's LeSabre right now. It seems to like it better than the Maxlife Synthetic I had been feeding it. [quieter startups, better mileage, no difference in consumption]. FWIW, she's running 4500 mile OCI's in mostly highway driving.

Many here and elsewhere have speculated that it is badge-engineered Mobil Clean 5000.

I got 2 cases for 65 cents per quart after rebate. UOA's show that Exxon Superflo and Mobil 5000 is VERY similar (just like Havoline & Chevron Supreme)

The 5w20 Honda oil you buy at the parts Dept of a Honda dealership is Exxon Superflo.

Superflo seems to have an especially low pump/flow temp for cold weather. I've used it in my Mazda v6 and it did just fine. We had a freak cold-snap here in Texas a few months back and it got down to 12*F one morning. The superflo 10w30 cranked right up without any hesitation.

While the formula may not be exactly the same as Mobil 5000 (since Mobil got sued for doing just that) it seems they might have changed the formula ever so slightly, but likely not enough to make a difference in our cars. I'd choose superflo over mobil5000 anyday.

D.RAM--what exactly do you mean that the oil was "used up" after only 3,000 miles? I hardly think this oil will only last for 3,000 miles!

If I remember the # correctly ,At 3000 miles the tbn was 2.0..I can't find the oil analysis sheet ,to give you all the #'s,but the lab guy said that the oil appeard to be used up at those miles

sorry, I was posting at the same time you were. I'am new here ,. what is or where is the uoa section ?

Absolutely great stuff. It is even more absolutely greater stuff if you can get it for drug store commodity prices; like under 1 per quart!!

If I had decided to stay with conventional oil I would run 10,000 OCI's in a Honda Civic.

I did however decide to run Mobil One 0w20,5w20, which as you know is a group IV synthetic.

My parents used Superflo Supreme for years and years in a '90 Grand Prix that they bought new. It never burned a drop of oil, and it looked brand new inside the valve covers after 100k miles.
