I think rates in general are skyrocketing. I think that happens regardless of who insured the person who hit you. You're not there customer so what benefit do they have of playing fair? The only way to get them to cooperate is with a lawsuit And they make that as miserable as possible.

What stands out to me more is when your own insurance company doesn't want to do their job. I've heard of that happening multiple times with country companies from different people.

A comprehensive claim does not count against you. It is OK if they do. There are a lot of insurance companies out there.

A loss is a loss.

Your statement may have been true when we were in a soft market…but the personal lines auto market is pretty rough right now.
