Is it possible to block off the exhaust tailpipe using a silicone coupler and PVC pipe cover with a fittng on the end for the compressed air to pressurize the exhaust to find exhaust leaks?

Similar to an engine leakdown test.

Sorry if this sounds confusing.

Get the engine running and have someone put the foot on the end of the exhaust pipe while you look or listen for a leak.

I would try spraying the whole exhaust system with soapy water, then start it up and look for bubbles being made.

A quick check for exhaust leaks is to jam a rag in the tailpipe, and start he engine - a helper is handy. Try revving it up.
The car will only run for a short while like this, so be quick. You will probably have to try it a few times.

I've used a shop-vac (blowing) connected to the tail pipe (duct tape coupler) and then sprayed soapy water to find the leaks. Worked well.
