Excess glue on center tube

I recently purchased two Parts Unlimited oil filters for a Suzuki GSXR. When I inspected them at home, I found a glue drip that extends the entire length of the center tube. It is heavily pooled around the bypass valve. One is more extreme than the other. I have mailed Parts Unlimited but have received no reply. I have searched online endlessly. I can find no articles addressing this problem. I found one that dealt with melted glue blockiing passages after cool down. Will the glue enter my engine and block gallies??? The Tokyo Roki filter looks far superior, but it is 2 hrs. to the nearest dealer. I also have a Fram. I purchased it prior to discovering these oil and filter sites. Let'r rip. Please.

I once used a Supertech oil filter on a car that had lots of glue that had dripped when the metal endcaps were put on.

I installed the filter out of curiosity to see if any of the glue would 'melt' after 10K miles of driving. The glue was still there when I removed the oil filter 9 months later.

I would not worry about the excess glue.

Better to have too much glue - than not enough glue.

The glue has to melt at a higher temperature than your oil will ever see. If not, the filter itself simply wouldn't be able to hold itself together.

Long story short, don' worry 'bout it!

Thanks. I appreciate the feedback. My concern is that this string of glue along the center tube, will come off in solid form and enter the engine. The melting scenario was in reference to the only other search result concerning excess glue. Do you feel that the flow and pressure might dislodge this fairly broad string of glue? I might just return and ask to exchange them for cleaner ones. Probably better than worrying about it. I thought it strange that nobody had ever questioned this before. I looked thoroughly on many forums, both auto and bike. I would add that this particular forum is impressive. Many knowledgable people. A fun place to hang out. Thanks.
