Hello

I'd like to ask if Eurol Coolant XL -36 could be used as a safe replacement for Toyota Super Long Life Coolant.
I just have a bottle in my garage and wanted to see if I could use it on my 1KR-FE.

They both satisfy ASTM D3306.

I'm based in Europe. The recommendations I saw in other posts for alternative coolants aren't really accessible here.
Cheers.

It's premix and you would likely need more than one bottle
after fully flushing the system with water.
also since its premix you would have to ensure the water remaining after the flush does not overly dilute it.

I'd skip and source the proper coolant.

ASTM D3306 won’t help much here. That’s a broad test of property determination, not about compatibility.

Once you perform a complete flush there are a lot of coolants you might use. The issue comes in mixing.

I have 5L of it which is enough for a flush.

I’m going for a flush. On my manual it says:

> “Toyota Super Long Life Coolant”or a similar high quality ethylene glycol-based non-silicate, non-amine, non-nitrite and non-borate coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid technology.

This liquid satisfies all those requirements according to the spec sheet. I'm just clueless if there's something else I should be looking out for.

you have to 100% remove all the old coolant.
as they could be incompatible.
Then since you dont have "full strength" coolant but pre-diluted.
you will have residual water in the engine which isnt as big an issue as mixing coolants.

This is a great insight. Thank you.
It's virtually impossible to find OEM concentrated coolant so I guess the dilution issue will remain the same.
I'm not sure what coolant is inside the car already, so I feel the urge to flush.

Will pickup a bottle of OEM in case this Eurol stuff disappears in the future and I need to top up.

But otherwise, would you think it's safe to use in a clean system?
