The EU recently passed a ban on coolants containing 2-Eha, i just happened to stumble upon this while on ATO24.de from Glysantin, stating that they have discontinued their G48 coolant, other brands like Febi Bilstein instead of discontinuing their G11/G48 coolants, have simply removed it, probably replacing it with other OAT inhibitors like Sebacate.

They also provided this helpful guide to find a suitable replacement for it based on Make and Year.

What I don't quite understand is why they recommend G64 for some and G65 for others, as far as i know they are basically the same, Silicate + Phosphate + OAT, G64 is green, and G65 is Pink.
G65 BTW , as far as i know = the current VW Audi G12 Evo that replaced G13 around 2019.

From the European Chemicals Agency :

" Additionally, the classification provided by companies to ECHA in REACH registrations identifies that this substance is suspected of damaging fertility or the unborn child. ”

Both are plasticizers, but i believe 2-Eha is more aggressive than Sebacate, plus one concern for me is that i have a car with an old school copper brass radiator, and 2-Eha is known to attack Lead Solder such as the ones used in these kinds of rads.

For a while i ran G12++ from Febi in it, no 2-Eha in it , i looked up the SDS , I didn't have any issues with it but decided to switch to G11/G48 in 2020, again i verified that none of the brands i bought had 2-Eha, and so far so good, , the cooling system is spotless, i plan on changing it every 2-3 years with just a simple drain and fill, plus it's relatively cheap.

And it's relatively more Alkaline versus most OAT coolants because of the Borates which act as a pH buffer, which is good for Cast Iron engines, it's one of the highest Silicate coolants there are, but they don't cause hard deposits like older high Silicate coolants did.
