Ethanol gas vs oil type?

is it safe to use 10% ethanol gasoline in a car or truck using a 10w30 HDEO?

For that matter does ethanol gas pose a greater fuel dilution threat despite the oil type?

I saw another thread that warned against that diesel oil & ethanol gasoline so it made me wonder

I'm not sure how an E10 blend would cause more fuel dilution...

I haven't heard of E10 causing fuel dilution, although fuel dilution CAN be caused by frequent stops and starts, running higher than the recommended octane, direction injection engines, etc.

Sorry, that should read, "direct injection engines." Also, I left fuel dilution from blow-by (combustion blowing past poorly seated or worn out rings).

E10 has been used in sweden for years without
any oil problems. I´ve even used E85 in my 5.9 durango and couldnt see any ill effects besides lousy range and
some coldstart issuiess, the oil looked and smelled just like
it use to do.

For most of us in the USA, 10% alcohol in the gas is normal.
It is inferior to pure gas for automotive use - for a bunch of reasons.
But it has shown no difference with engine oils.
